London, Fall 2009

If the past few days are any indication of how my life in London is going to be, I’m never coming home.
I LOVE my classes. I have two right now- my International Relations elective meets Mon&Tues 9-1 and my Marketing/Advertising core class meets the same time on Wed&Thurs. Both of my professors are intelligent, articulate and HILARIOUS. Having my afternoons free to explore isn’t so bad either.
I’ve seen a lot the past few days- the Museum of London, Piccadilly Circus, Soho, St. James’ Park, the British Museum, a tour of the Houses of Parliament, etc.  The past few nights have been pretty great too- I’ve been to a ton of pubs at this point and I’m starting to really like some of the other people from the program.
I’m looking forward to going to the Museum of Brands tomorrow with my Advertising/Marketing class- from the website it definitely seems like my kind of place.
I have a ticket to tour Buckingham Palace this weekend and I’m hoping to check out Portobello Market in Notting Hill on Saturday afternoon, if I have time.
I’m also making some plans to head out of London in the near future- I’m going to Brussels with my IR class Sept 20-22 to tour NATO headquarters and the EU Parliament building. We’re also getting some time to explore on our own.. I’m totally psyched. My mid-semester break plans are still being finalized, but I’m hoping to head to Florence/Venice or maybe Greece. I also have a ton of other ideas for weekend trips.. we’ll see what happens. :)
